I have been preparing for this work my whole life.
Wisdom comes from surviving hard things and deciding not to be hardened by them. My years in graduate school taught me philosophy, theory and evidence-based practices. But textbooks cannot teach unconditional positive regard for a person who is hurting. That wisdom is earned by surviving pain, and from getting up after each knock down to discover that healing is possible. If I can do it, you can do it.
For more than two decades I have devoted myself to a career helping combat veterans, active-duty personnel, first responders and high achieving adults navigate the worst seasons of their lives.
I am a native Washingtonian whose roots run deep in this city. Before and after work I like to be outside, tending to my gardens, landscaping and taking long walks through the park with my puppy. The natural world has always reminded me that all of us are stronger than we appear and braver than we know.
